Miranda Rae, founder of Sound Women SW & Sound Women Bristol CIC is nominated for Positive Role Model for Gender in National Diversity Awards 2024.
In 2022 Sound Women South West had the honour of winning the Community Organisation for Gender in The National and Bristol Diversity Awards. After a string of awards for producing radio and podcast series, we are so proud to see our founder be nominated in these presitigious awards that get over 40,000 entries a year!
We were overhwelmed with 100’s of testimonials so we though we would take screenshots and share just some of them here. In the last 3 years, even during Covid, Miranda carried on teaching and taught over 1000 people in 3 years in a variety of radio and podcasting skills. Many of the workshops were aimed at women from disadvantaged backgrounds and has been committed to addressing issues of inequality, racism throughout her long career. In 2017 Sound Women South West officially became a Community Interest Organisation and in 2022 also set up Sound Women Bristol CIC to specicially work with women of all ages in the inner city of Bristol. This has now become the mission for Sound Women Bristol and even though we are also an indepenent production company, we can offer corporate training in podcasting or podcast production, we committed to providing opportunities for women to empower, create confidence and gain skills at the same time….more information on that to follow.
