Sound Women South West shortlisted from 75,000 entries for Community Organisaton for Gender 2022!
We are so incrediblly proud to have been shortlisted for the prestigious, National Diversity Awards. Having our founder, Miranda just win the Bristol Diveristy Awards for Positive Role Model in Gender to then be nominated for this is such a privilege and an honour!
Our team work tirelessly to offer inclusive support for the communities we serve, providing a safe space whilst also offering a training and an opportunity to gain skills that not only create confidence in public speaking through training in presneting, script writing helps with issues of literacy, especially when writing for radio and podcasts as you write as you speak so doesnt matter if not an academic. Our workshops appeal to such a wide selection of women of all ages as we focus on themes and topics to appeal to different demographics. Projects working with elders resulted in the production of the award winning series Our Journey and was the first series to document the Bristol Bus Boycott, Bristol’s own Rosa Parks story, which at the time had not bee documented apart from Professor Madge Dresser’s pamphlet in the early 70’s.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote!
