Sound Women SW are very proud to announce that Annie Nightingale will be hosting the 1st in our series of Women on the Airwaves on Sat 12th Feb 2022 at 3pm! This series will feature industry leaders and give you exclusive inside advice on how to suceed in one of the most cut throat industries.
As the first female presenter on BBC Radio 1 and the station’s longest-serving DJ, Annie Nightingale is one of the UK’s most respected and influential broadcasters, with a passion for music and broadcasting that has never dimmed.
She is famed for her enthusiasm for a wide spectrum of musical genres, from prog rock through punk to the dance and rap of the 21st Century.
A former journalist, she also fronted The Old Grey Whistle Test for the BBC, and paved the way for the many female DJs who followed in her footsteps.
So if you have you thought about a career in radio or podcasting but just don’t know where to start then join Sound Women SW for this series of online events. In this series we hear from leading women in radio & podcasting, and find out how they paved their way to success and, guests will include Clara Amfo, Sarah Story, Annie Mac, Mandi Stark, Anna Williamson and Livvy and Chrissie with more to be confirmed. In this event we will be giving you a chance to put your interview skills to the test and ask your questions.
